I have been teaching band at Horizon Middle School since 2008 and added Activities Director in 2019.  I teach 6th thru 8th band and a beginning guitar class that is offered as an elective to 8th graders only.  I also get the opportunity to teach Jazz Band as an elective class during 10th period. On the right hand side of this page is the handbook for each grade.  The handbook explains the grading procedures for band, when our concerts are for the year, and the dress attire for the concerts.

 

I am blessed with a wonderful family.  My husband, Joel, who was my big cheerleader for 19 years of our marriage, passed away in 2018 unexpectedly.  I was SO incredibly blessed to have him in my life!  We were blessed with two handsome boys, Caleb and Joshua.  Caleb is following in his dad's footsteps and is in the Army National Guard.  He will be starting is sophomore year at UNK this fall.  Joshua is going to be a senior this year and plays football and soccer.  We also have 2 dachshunds, Daphne (14) and Sadie (1 1/2) and those 2 definitely are the queens of the house!

 

In my spare time I'm walking the wiener dogs, watching movies with my sons, playing piano in my praise band at church, and when I can, reading.  I'm so looking forward to getting to know each of my students and sharing my love of music with them.
