Mrs. Tellus 6-3 ELA and Reading
Hi! I'm Mrs. Tellus! I started teaching ELA in 2017, and joined the Horizon staff in 2021. I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor's in K-12 Music Education and 7-12 English. At Horizon I am the Head Cross Country coach and an assistant Track coach.
My family consists of my husband, Andrew, who works for First National Bank of Omaha, and our golden retriever. In my spare time I enjoy running, reading, and spending time with family.
Course Descriptions
6th Grade English:
In 6th grade English we will focus on grammar, writing traits, several modes of writing, spelling, digital citizenship, and continuing to develop our speaking and listening skills.
6th Grade Reading:
6th grade Reading class will cover a variety of short stories, novels, figurative language, elements of a literary text, and unpack several different types of reading strategies. My goal is to provide students with the skills necessary to tackle complex texts through different text structures and types.
